Matthew J. Reidy joined Fremont Realty Capital at its founding in 1997 with roles in acquisitions, capital formation, portfolio/asset management, and investor relations. Mr. Reidy currently heads Portfolio and Asset Management, co-leads Investment Acquisitions and Dispositions, and is a senior member of the firm’s investment committee. 

Mr. Reidy has 25 years of industry experience covering all core property types and several alternative sectors including senior housing, hotels, self-storage, student housing, office, retail, and cold storage. He has established Fremont as one of the largest self-storage investors in the U.S. and Europe. Mr. Reidy has served or is currently serving on 18 boards of directors and management committees in the U.S., Europe and Puerto Rico. He is currently serving on the board of directors of Blue Self Storage SLU (Chairman, Spain), My Place Holdings/SSDL GmbH (Austria, Germany and Switzerland), City Self Storage (Chairman, Spain) and Fremont-Metro (U.S.).

Prior to joining Fremont Realty Capital in 1997, Mr. Reidy was an Asset Manager for Fremont Properties with responsibility for a five million square foot office, industrial, retail, and land portfolio, owned directly or through institutional partnership entities. He previously held positions within Fremont Group’s leveraged buyouts, corporate finance, treasury and strategic planning, and reporting groups. Before joining Fremont, Mr. Reidy held positions in the business development, venture capital, and strategic planning groups of Unisys (formerly Burroughs Corporation) in the U.S. & U.K. 

Mr. Reidy is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers and The Urban Land Institute. Mr. Reidy received a B.S. in Finance from California State University Sacramento and completed advanced studies in International Business and Economics at the University of Kent, Canterbury, England.
